AuthKit is a open source project written by James Gardner. It provides an extensible Python framework for writing authentication and authorization backends using the WSGI specification.
As of 2012-06-27, the authkit.org website is not accessible so I guess this mean the AuthKit project has been discontinued from some times ago.
This project (LibAuthKit) is a fork/derived work of the initial AuthKit project since its original development may have been discontinued in favor of Pyramid.
Support for Django generic views (not classes) is built-in and fully supported.
- Experimental Schevo backend for authentication and authorization of remote Users.
- Experimental HTTP based middleware and decorators using WSGI 1.0.
- Extensible permissions/roles system for Python 2.x based web apps.
Since the 0.4.x series, development has been integrated into the django-hotsauce distribution. (extras/libauthkit)
